We went à la carte. Party of 2. Chose 3 different snacks for sharing, next 3 starters for sharing. And finally 2 mains.
The snack and starters were interesting, in a good way, full of flavors, different plating and beautiful as well.
With
Mehr attention to both flavor, textures and arrangement.
So only based on the beginning of the meal I would rate it 4… but then the mains arrived.
We ordered the lamb shank and the butter chicken.
The only dish we saw before hand on restaurant instagram was the beautiful and different plated butter chicken.
What we got was half a chicken, cooked in oven on a bed of butter chicken sauce. With a crispy puffed skin on top that made no sense. So that was the first disappointment. They went straight from kinda fine dining experience to bistro the minut the mains arrived.
And we were wondering why it was not accompanied by a naan or rice or something now that it looked so traditional? If it was meant to be ordered as an extra why didn’t the waiter ask about it? Cause we sure missed that… I’m honestly not aware about this matter, haven’t found the menu anywhere online.
If only the tasted had knocked us out then - but no - we actually send it back, the thigh was chewy and the breast overcooked. Sauce flavor pretty ordinary :(
Lamb shank was also very rustic… pommes pure under the shank, gravy poured over and a couple of fresh herbes on top. Great taste, but nothing out of the ordinary and very different from the dishes we started out with.
The waiters were kind and helpful. Because the not so great chicken they offered coffee and dessert, we did not accept the kind offer, but nice of them.
Obviously they didn’t charge for the dish we send back.
They created a relaxed setting - also very bistro like - so maybe we expected something else based on what we saw before arrival and what the first dishes showed us.
All in all,
We had a great evening. I wouldn’t recommend the mains though ✌🏽 Weniger
